Camera Assistant – ‘Stranger Comes To Town’ – March 2014

I worked as a Focus Puller and Clapper Loader on a short film in Newport, working with the Camera Operator Sy Turner, gaining experience with the Black Magic Cinema Camera.

Independent Film Maker – “Better To Have Loved?” (In post production) - March 2014

I am making a short film about an emotionally and physically abusive relationship from start to end through contemporary dance, both lyrical and abstract.  I worked with two professional dancers from South Wales and shot it over 4 days in January. The trailer was screened at Cardiff’s Chapter Arts Centre at a ‘Movie Maker’ event.

Director, Producer and Writer – ‘Pushed’ January – April 2012

I wrote the 10-minute script and had students join my crew to make our 2nd Year Fiction Film. It told the story of a girl in an abusive relationship that accidentally pushes her boyfriend down the stairs, resulting in his death as well as violent conflict between the girl and her friends. The most significant scene was the stairs stunt, where I contacted a stunt coordinator from the Welsh Royal College who strapped our actor up with ropes and harnesses, taking 4 hours to film.

Camera Assistant, Colourist and Editor - ‘Getting Lucky’, a Charity Film – February 2012

Getting Lucky was a short film funded by the charity Women's Aid Association in Wales, to provide an educational video to be used in schools to help teenagers understand and respect becoming sexually active. I worked on set for three weeks as a Camera Assistant and Clapper Loader and then had two weeks to edit together the final piece as well as grade the film ready for International Women’s Day in March.

Co-Director, Cameraman and Editor – ‘Four Paws’ – October 2011 – January 2012

Together in a crew of 3 we made a 10-minute documentary about the work of Four Paws, an animal rescue in South Wales, who foster abandoned animals and send them to new homes. We followed the journey of one dog and focused the film around John, a worker at the center. It was extremely successful in bringing awareness to animal cruelty and we were rewarded with a warm applause at Chapters ‘Movie Maker’ event night.

Photographer/ Film Maker - Birmingham Council  - August 2011

I filmed and photographed the Birmingham Triathlon at the Bull Ring. 3 Photos were selected for the Council magazine and I edited the footage into a 3-minute film, which is currently being used in the council training sessions and meetings.

Intern - Maverick Media, London – 4th June – 29th June 2012

Maverick Media is a games trailer company whose focus is in Post Production. I was taken on shoots in Central London and assisted directors during their work on game releases, campaigns and trailers, often sitting in on pitches to important clients. I used their Final Cut editing suites for tasks, advertising and cut my own game trailer during my stay. I was also chosen to fill in for the companies’ Runner for a week while he was away on business. While in this position I took phone calls, organised estate agent visits for new office space, organised client data and ran errands such as going to client businesses with packages.
